I'm getting the, "Your page layout was either created with a previous Visual Composer version or you have elements/text located outside of VC rows [...]" after having switched to classic mode in order to copy and paste the html from one page to another.
As a result, this message only shows up when I try to edit the page of the link I've provided. Any obvious quick fix to this without reverting to a previous version?
Are you sure you are not adding text/shortcodes outside of VC rows? That message should only appear when things exist in the layout that are not in rows and thus VC needs to reconvert the page content to allow it to work in the visual editor.
What are the most common indicators that I've added text/shortcodes outside of VC rows? I'm completely unfamiliar with website design or HTML and I'm simply learning as I go. Thanks!
See screenshot: http://prntscr.com/60vz1y . To put it simply create your page using the Visual Composer only and any text or shortcodes that you need add them in a VC Text Block page element.
