I just downloaded the latest salient. When I look at the plugins of salient I see version 5.2.4. But, I look in the .zip salient and salient-child files I can't find the version number. How do i find what the latest version of salient is currently installed.
When downloading the Salient zip file, the version is not part of the naming. However, the zip file you download is normally the latest version.
Once you install, you can see the teme version from Appearance > Themes

Thank you for the reply. When I looked at the themes there were two (2) for salient. Version 7.0.5 and version 8.5.3.

I right clicked the salient version 7.0.5 theme, then clicked details. When I clicked to delete the theme the WordPress dashboard reported the theme as not existing. How do I delete the older version from the Themes section if it does not exist?

thank you! This is really helpful. I have another question. Again as I wrote earlier our theme is a child of the salient theme and using Salient 8.5.3 everything works fine. When I updated to salient 16.2.2. The top menu no longer works correctly.
For example if you go to https://www.fjspecialty.com on a small screen like a phone the home page appears with no horizontal menu. However, on the opposite of the screen where our logo is located if one touches or clicks the screen a drop down appears with the menu appearing vertically. Normally, on larger screens it appears at the top of the page horizontally.
If you navigate to the test site https://testmigration.fjspecialty.com which is the exact same .php child theme code except using the 16.2.2 salient theme. On a large screen the horizontal menu appears normally as well as the vertical menu bar is visible. But, none of the vertical menu links work. Navigating to the same URL with a phone, the horizontal menu bar is not visible. Just the vertical menu bar is visible. But, none of the menu links work. The way it is supposed to work is on the opposite side of the home page are three(3) horizontal lines. Touching them, should cause the vertical menu bar to appear vertically just like when we use the salient theme version 8.5.3.
I have looked through the custom theme and can't find the cause. Can you offer a suggestion of document or URL to get me in the correct direction to fix this.
I would like to point out it is this site where an older salient theme version 7.0.5 can't be deleted because it is reported to not exist. I do not know if that information is relevant.
