I am trying to create a blog post format in order to have the text centralized and a side bar with a table of contents to accompany the text through the reading ( i addressed the perfect example as i would like to do it).
Could you give it a look and help me do it, please?
Really? But i already saw people who made websites with salient having it. I would really need something like that in order to accompany the topics of the text. Is a plugin the only way?
Unfortunately we don't have this option or a way to add the table of contents on the sidebar. You can only add the category lists of posts among other widgets.
We'll however add this on our wishlist to include in the coming releases.

I am afraid we don't have the table of contents element to achieve this, you may need to use a 3rd party plugin to add this functionality.

I am afraid at the moment, I am unable to recommend any plugins. This also is not achievable with css alone.
You can check through the WP repository for plugins to assist with this.
