We don't have the option to turn off featured images on the blog page, however, we can use CSS to remove those featured images. Please share your website URL so that we can provide a working CSS for it.
Just use the plugin "Loco Translate" and then create a language file in the language you desire (i.e. EN US). Afterwards, navigate Plugins > Salient Core and search for "Read more", there just add the desired text and you will be good to go.
I truly hope this proves helpful for you. Should you have any further questions or encounter any difficulties along the way, please don't hesitate to reach out.
client wants her blog posts, which don't always include images, presented without featured images on the archives page, like she had on her old site:
https://brigitte-suekar.at/gedanken/
