Please update to the Latest Salient Theme Version.
The current version of the theme is v16.4.0 (8/23/24) and the current version of the page builder is 7.8 . Salient versions older than v11 won't be compatible with WordPress 5.5.
-Also ensure you first update on a staging site with the help of a developer so that once it is successful you can migrate to your live site so that your live site is not interfered with.

I've just rebought Salient for a client who doesn't have access to their original theme license. I need to update from v8.5.5 to v16.
If I do that, do you think it's going to break my theme?

Additionally, turn off all bundled plugins and then update it via the Envato Market Plugin or Manually via the upload feature.
