I had a couple of questions about updating my Salient parent theme.
1) I didn't get any type of notification that a newer version was available to update for Salient 5.0 or 5.0.1. When a new update is released, are notifications given in the admin area if you're using a child theme or even the parent theme?
2) If there are no notifications given, what is the best way to update the parent theme? The only way I can think of is to download the theme from EnvatoMarket and then re-upload the parent theme. I just want to make sure I'm not making that process too complicated if that is indeed the way it needs to be done.
1) You can turn on notification in Themeforest Download Section .See screenshot: .
2) You can update your theme by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, renaming the current version folder you have on your server and uploading the new.

I do have a follow up question though regarding the same issue. I've used other themes before where, when the parent theme is updated by the developer, you would be able to just update that from the admin section likeyou do plugins. I'm just curious if that functionality will ever be apart of Salient?
