I am trying to use an anchor # to drive a link from a static page back to the home page and down to the anchor position. Unfortunately it looks like it just places the #anchor at the end of the url of the current page and never goes back to the home page.
I.e.
Clicking on the "about" menu item places the #about at the end of the current page url:
