This is a great template :) I can import the demo content but cannot edit it. Throws a 404. I can create a new page and start to add blank content, but the template pages and copy pasting content from demo doesn't work, still 404. What could be the problem?
To troubleshoot further, could you disable all third party plugins (plugins not bundled with the Salient theme)? After disabling the plugins, try and reimport the demo and let us know if the issue still persists.
Hello, i have already tried to deactivate plugins. attached is the plugin situation..
I cannot import some of the components even if they are vanilla. (not from within a template). The scrolling text and tabs components are two of those..
Could this be an FTP read/write access error, or a database read/write error ?
To assist you better, we'd love to have a closer look at your setup and to do this, we'll need admin login credentials
(dashboard URL, username, password) to your site. This will enable us to conduct a more in-depth investigation of the issue based on your specific configurations. Would you mind sharing this with us?
If you prefer, you can safely share the access through an access plugin such as Controlled Admin Access.
Before you provide this information, we strongly recommend taking a backup of your site.
If you have any concerns or questions about this process, please don't hesitate to let me know.
i've contacted the hosting server help desk about the chmod() function. if this doesn't work i'll do what Judith suggest and create an admin account for you to dig in..
Thnx for intense support, talk to you again in a minute.
I'm happy that we could assist you! If you've enjoyed Salient, be sure to check out Nectarblocks, our latest innovation for building websites visually with WordPress.

Hi Erem,
Thank you for getting in touch.
Try clearing your permalinks and see if that helps https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-regenerate-your-permalinks-in-wordpress/.
Try that and let us know how it goes.
Cheers,

Hey Again,
Thanks for reaching out! .
Your PHP Settings are likely not correct.
You can verify your PHP configuration limits by installing a simple plugin called WordPress phpinfo http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-php-info/
Recommended PHP configuration limits are as follows:
Also check for server php errors using this guide: http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/your-complete-guide-to-troubleshooting-wordpress/ . It would be best to contact the hosting provider and have them look into this as they are aware of the Server Configuration Details .

Could you also provide the error logs ?.

Hey Again,
The error log suggest the server PHP needs to be configured correctly. Were you able to get a response from the Hosting provider ?.
This should help: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/function-chmod-error/
