    Hi,

I read Salient's documentation about translating with Loco Translate, some things work, but some other don't.

For example, in the search field, I succeeded in translating "Hit enter..." but not "Type what you are looking for...". I can't find the latest in the strings.

I also tried to change the location of the files, which is not indicated in your doc. Loco Translate asks us where to put the files. Does that matter?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Josee,

Thank you for getting in touch.

You can change the search placeholder text in the Salient > Header Navigation > Header Search.1211972250.png

As for the files, the location does not matter. You can try saving them in the languages folder and see if that works.

Try that and let us know how it goes.

    Cheers,

    Hi Andrew,

thanks for your answer. But there are other strings that I need to translate and it doesn't seem to work. Example given: Read More and All (categories filter).

Do you have any other solution for me?

    Thanks

    Hi Josee,

Thank you for getting back to us.

To clarify, have you tried translating the strings using the 'salient-core' domain? Here's our guide on the same: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/translations/#:~:text=Text-,Domains,-The%20text%20domain

Try that and let us know how it goes.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

I used this plugin previously, and it worked, but I wanted to reduce the number of plugins... I was trying to translate everything in Loco Translate. The plugin Say What works.

    Thanks

    Hey Again,

Loco Translate does not allow multilingual translations, you will have to use WPML if you wish to make your site dual language: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/translations/

    Best,
