How do I add the tags box to portfolio items? I see them for blog posts, but not portfolio items.

I tried project attributes, but each attribute stands alone with a check mark logo next to it. I'd really like the tried-and-true tags section with a list of tags.

I've tried a couple of tags plugins, but they don't add a tags options to Portfolio items, just regular blog posts. Is there some code I can modify so that tags show up in portfolio items?
