Currently, the Google Fonts list within the Salient theme is updated periodically with theme updates, but there isn't an automatic system for monthly or quarterly updates.
That's a fantastic idea for improving the theme, I agree, and I've added your request to our development team's feature wishlist for consideration in a future update.

Or maybe create a system wherein we can update the font automatically?
