Needing a way to sort the project categories and just haven't seemed to have any luck. As you'll see I've got a portfolio filter option set (which the client absolutely loves btw), but they need to be able to rearrange the order of the items in the horizontal menu.
As I recall when I've done this before the menu generally follows the order of portfolio categories I select, but now just seems to randomly order however it wants.
I thought I might be able to get control of this with the advance Post Types Reorder plugin which I just purchased, but I'm not having any luck. I'm certain there is a way to do this...any chance you guys could let me know how?
You’re right - the order of the portfolio filter menu can be controlled, but it requires a specific approach since third-party reordering plugins usually don’t work with it.
The filter menu follows the order set in the Portfolio Categories taxonomy. To reorder your categories:
-Install the free Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order plugin.
-Once activated, go to Portfolio > Taxonomy Order.
-You’ll see a list of your portfolio categories. Simply drag and drop them into your desired order. There’s no save button; changes are saved automatically.
Your portfolio filter navigation will then reflect this new order on the frontend.
