First off I am seriously loving the theme and CMS you guys have put together. It's all really well done and saving me a ton of time/headache.
I just have a small issue with the background video on my homepage banner. I've uploaded a webm version of the video using the new vp9 codec which works amazingly in Chrome and Firefox. Since safari doesnt support vp9 I also included a lower quality .mp4. Safari loads the mp4 eventually but not before sitting for 30ish seconds I assume trying to play the incompatible webm video.
Is there any way I can direct safari browsers to access the .mp4 right off the bat?

I\'m having the same problem: a video background in a Nectar slider loads fairly quickly in Chrome, IE and Firefox but there\'s a long delay before it plays in Safari. While you\'re waiting, all you see is the grey box with the stripes. The heading that\'s on top of the video isn\'t visible either, so the entire header region is empty for a long while.
Did anyone ever solve this Safari video loading issue, perhaps as Jon describes below about loading the MP4 directly?
If I need to bring in a freelancer i would like to be able to tell them what needs to be done to fix this issue. Sure would save a lot of time and frustration. Thank you in advance for any insights you may have gained.
Hi Marion, I never found an adequate solution to the problem. I think we got a small reduction in the delay time by re-encoding the video in the Handbrake app but it's hard to say if it made a real difference: the delay is a bug in Safari and typically isn't caused by the video itself.
In any event, I hope the ThemeNectar crew addresses this. I assume there's a workaround they could implement to force Safari to bypass its attempt to load the WebM version of the video, whether it exists or not, and load the Safari-compatible MP4 immediately.
