I would like to use either a frame, or monitor or shadow or some way of enhancing images.

I am used to have image format short codes in many themes. I attached a couple pictures to illustrate.

I don't know how hard it is to include this in your theme as included short codes - but it really enhances a theme to add these touches. IMHO.

(Sometimes I get stuck following a theme or visual composer and I forget I can just use good old css.)
