Salient's Category Grid element is hardcoded to only show product categories (product_cat taxonomy). It doesn't recognize custom taxonomies like WooCommerce Brands (product_brand).

    Is this feature coming?

    Hello Jason,

Thanks for reaching out and for the suggestion.

You are correct, currently, the Salient Category Grid element is hardcoded to query the standard WooCommerce product_cat taxonomy and does not yet support custom taxonomies like product_brand.

I don't have a confirmed ETA for when this specific feature might be added, but I have passed your request along to our development team for consideration in a future update.

In the meantime, you can achieve a similar display using one of these methods:

    1. Plugin Shortcodes: Most WooCommerce Brands plugins provide their own shortcodes (e.g., [product_brand_thumbnails]). You can paste this shortcode into a Text Block or Raw HTML element in the WPBakery builder.
    2. Manual Grid: For full design control matching the Salient look, you can use an Image Gallery or individual Interactive Banners manually linked to your specific Brand Archive URLs (e.g., /brand/nike/).

    I hope this helps!

    Best regards,

Just a quick question, for my categories, so NOT BRAND, when I click on one it keeps using the default image that was imported with the demo content, how do you get the categories headers to use the Thumbnails in the Header area as the image? does this make sense?

    Hello Jason,

    That makes perfect sense.

To have your specific Product Category pages display their own unique header image, you need to assign a thumbnail to that category.

Here is how to do it:

    1. Go to WooCommerce > Products > Categories in your WordPress dashboard.

    2. Click Edit on the specific category you want to change.

    3. Scroll down to the "Thumbnail" field and upload your desired image.

    4. Click Update.

Salient automatically pulls this thumbnail image to use as the background for the Page Header on that specific category's archive page.

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes!
