I use the theme Salient 10.0.1 by ThemeNectar and Wordpress alerts me "Your site is running on an outdated version of PHP (7.4.33)... may increase your site’s performance. The minimum recommended version of PHP is 8.3". But the theme is not compatible with PHP 8x, I just tried! Have-you got another version of Salient, compatible with PHP 8x?

No update for the theme is suggested since several years !?

    Hi Christophe,

The current version of the theme is 18.0.1, and is compatible with the latest versions of PHP(i.e v8.3). You can review the available methods for updating Salient here: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/#methods

Before updating, I recommend going through this guide, which explains what to expect when skipping multiple major releases: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/important-salient-update-for-new-envato-requirements/

For a complete list of bug fixes and new feature additions in the latest updates, you can view the changelog here: https://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html

    I hope this helps!

    Best wishes,

Hello, thank you for your reply. I purchased the new version and just installed it. Flip Box doesn't work with this new version? I need it, so I searched and found "Flip Box V2 - Addon for WPBakery Page Builder," but it's a paid add-on. Could I get a trial code before buying it? How can I be sure there aren't other paid add-ons? On my old site with Salient v10, can I see the add-ons? Or has it become a separate module since then?

    Hello Christophe,

    Thanks for writing in!

Welcome to the latest version of Salient! It sounds like there is some confusion regarding how Flip Boxes are handled in the current version compared to your old v10 setup.

The good news is that you do not need to purchase any paid add-ons to use Flip Boxes. In fact, we recommend against third-party "Flip Box V2" add-ons as they often conflict with Salient's native styling.

    1. Where to Find Flip Boxes in Salient

Since Salient v10, the Flip Box has been integrated directly into the Nectar Elements within WPBakery.

    • The Element Name: It is now called the "Interactive Map / Flip Box" or simply "Flip Box" depending on your specific version of the Nectar Page Builder.

    • How to Add it: When you click the "+" button to add an element in WPBakery, search for "Flip Box". It is part of the core theme package—no extra license is required.

    2. Why your v10 Flip Boxes might not be showing

If you migrated a site from v10 to the latest version and the boxes are missing, it is likely due to the Salient Core plugin:

    • Salient Core Requirement: In newer versions, almost all elements (like Flip Boxes) were moved from the theme files into a required plugin called Salient Core.

    • Action: Go to Plugins in your dashboard. Ensure that Salient Core and Salient WPBakery Page Builder are both installed and active.

    3. Regarding Paid Add-ons and Trials
    • Third-Party Add-ons: We (the Salient team) do not own or manage "Flip Box V2 - Addon for WPBakery." As a result, we cannot provide trial codes or support for it.

    • Included Features: 99% of the features you see in Salient demos are included in the theme purchase. There are no "hidden" paid modules required to make the theme function like the demos.

    • Checking Old Add-ons: On your old v10 site, you can go to Plugins to see if you had a specific third-party plugin active. If it was a Salient feature, it was likely hard-coded and has simply been updated to the new "Core" system.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello,

Thanks for details. In v10 I have no specific plugin: just "Salient WPBakery Page Builder", no flip-flop plugin, no Salient Core plugin. But in v18 I finded the menu  "Install Plugins" and I installed Salient Core and now, all work! Great! Thanks a lot. So now where can I find help for all differents elements I can add with this version?

    Hello,
Bad news: after upgrading my site to Salient v18, I activated PHP 8.3 (instead of 7.4) – which is the reason for my Salient upgrade – and I'm still experiencing a general site freeze, the same as with Salient v10. Nothing is displayed except the message "There is a critical error on this site." Obviously, I've reactivated PHP 7.4 while waiting for your solution.

    Hello,
The problem is solved: I hadn't updated the "Salient WPBakery Page Builder" plugin. Apologies for the inconvenience.
