I am very tempted to purchase the Salient theme. But I would like to know the following:
Is it possible to build my website on domain A, and then when it is done transfer it (and the Salient license) to domain B? Domain A is a backup / testing domain I own, Domain B is my main domain.
This way I can take my time getting the design and content just right, without taking my current website (on domain B) offline.
That is a very common (and smart!) workflow. You can absolutely build your site on a staging/test domain and then move it to your live production domain when you're ready.
Salient is licensed through Envato (ThemeForest), and their system is designed to be flexible for exactly this scenario.
Key Things to Know
One License, One Live Site: While you can move the license as many times as you want, one standard license is valid for only one single end product (live site) at a time.
Staging/Local Support: The Envato system typically allows for a "Local" or "Staging" environment to be active alongside your live site without triggering a license block, provided the URL clearly indicates it's for testing (e.g., staging.yourdomain.com or localhost).
Envato Market Plugin: I highly recommend installing the Envato Market Plugin. It makes managing your API tokens and theme updates much easier as you transition between domains.

Hello Bart!
Thanks for writing in!
