I just updated to the latest version of Salient and it appears my site is completely blank save for the home page that looks like a plugin issue I have raised in a different ticket.
Okay I\'ll reply here as well because the title of this thread is now the current issue.
Okay, I deactivated all plugins but then had to reactivate a few required ones (Salient Visual Composer, Contact Form 7 and Woocommerce)
Those are now the only plugins active. Now, when you click on any page other than the home page it is completely blank. Not even a logo or menu bar... completely blank.
One good thing is that I don\'t see the error messages anymore though. The completely blank site is concerning though. I\'d send a screenshot but it basically looks like this... Close your eyes... Take what you see physically and invert the color... tada! WHITE!!! hahaha!
I contacted my host and here is the transcript... (Important parts or bold.)
[Initial Question]: (2:47 pm) [System] Customer has entered chat and is waiting for an agent. (2:48pm) [Hisako P.] Hello, Ryan! Thanks for contacting HostGator Livechat Support. My name is Hisako. Give me a few to review your problem/query please. (2:48 pm) [Hisako P.] Can you please provide me with the affected URL? (2:49 pm) [Ryan]: http://whiteknightvideo.com (2:51pm) [Hisako P.] One moment please while I pull some information together from your account and then take a look at and see if I can replicate the error. (2:53 pm) [Hisako P.] Replicated (2:54 pm) [Hisako P.] What changed have you recently made just prior to this issue existing, Ryan? (2:54 pm) [Ryan]: Recently updated theme. (2:55 pm) [Ryan]: And various plugins. (2:55 pm) [Ryan]: Honestly not really sure how long it has been like this. (2:56pm) [Hisako P.] I can try resetting your theme and/or disabling your plugins and see if this fixes your pages, Ryan, if you\'d like (2:56 pm) [Ryan]: Go for it. (2:56pm) [Hisako P.] And you can go back into your dashboard and enable one by one until you run into the issue again and you\'ll know what\'s causing it (2:56 pm) [Hisako P.] and if not - might have just been a temporary glitch/update with WordPress that caused it, but re-activating the plugins worked and all will be well (2:57 pm) [Hisako P.] [*] Plugins disabled successfully. [*] Restored original plugin state. (2:59 pm) [Hisako P.] I\'m going to try baking your cache folder and see if that does anything before disabling themes (2:59 pm) [Ryan]: Okay. (3:00 pm) [Hisako P.] Doesn\'t appear that you have a cache folder available for this domain name, so can\'t be a cache issue. (3:02 pm) [Ryan]: Interesting. (3:02 pm) [Ryan]: What about increasing memory limit? (3:03 pm) [Hisako P.] Depends on what specifically you\'re trying to increase, we have restrictions on some limit increase (3:03 pm) [Hisako P.] I\'m going to try disabling your theme now, Ryan. (3:03 pm) [Ryan]: Ok (3:03 pm) [Hisako P.] [*] Resetting theme data to default
Current data - Template : twentyfifteen Stylesheet : twentyfifteen (3:04 pm) [Hisako P.] So now, I would suggest reenabling the theme and seeing if this error persists (3:07 pm) [Hisako P.] If the error doesn\'t exist then - go 1-by-1 and re-enable your plugins until you hit the error again (3:07 pm) [Ryan]: Okay, I cleared browser cache, reactivated and problem is still there. (3:08 pm) [Hisako P.] Did you first re-activate the theme then re-test your site ? (3:11pm) [Ryan]: I checked on the default theme and the site worked as it should, albeit terrible looking. I then cleared cache and reactivated. Still white. Just now I went to my site via FTP and renamed /public_html/whiteknightvideo.com/wp-content/plugins to /public_html/whiteknightvideo.com/wp-content/xplugins (3:12 pm) [Ryan]: I\'m pretty sure that rules out a plugin issue right? (3:13pm) [Hisako P.] Yes, it would. I am still working to see if i can resolve this issue so I thank you very much for your patience. (3:14pm) [Hisako P.] Do you have any custom permissions? I am seeing there are some that have 777 permissions which we do not allow. (3:15 pm) [Ryan]: Can you reset those? I think my last web guy messed with those. (3:16 pm) [Hisako P.] One moment and I will be back shortly. (3:16 pm) [Ryan]: ok (3:21 pm) [Hisako P.] The permissions did not fix it so I am testing other things (3:21 pm) [Ryan]: okay (3:26pm) [Hisako P.] There is an issue with the theme as when I change the theme to another one, all pages show. I tried permissions and different PHP versions but all were unsuccessful. Do you have any backups for this Wordpress? (3:27 pm) [Ryan]: I don\'t think so. (3:31 pm) [HisakoP.] A ticket is being created to further look into this matter and try to get this resolved. It will be a few more moments and I will have the ticket number for you (3:31 pm) [Ryan]: ok (3:34 pm) [Hisako P.] Just be a few more moments and I will have a ticket number for you. (3:37 pm) [Ryan]: Does this help at all... http://codex.wordpress.org/Common_WordPress_Errors (3:38 pm) [Hisako P.] That is one of the steps I tried when I changed the theme and it was not resolved:
Your Theme may be causing the problem. This is especially likely if you are experiencing the white screen of death after you have just activated a new Theme, or created a New Site in a WordPress Network. Log in to the WordPress Administration Screens and activate the default WordPress Twenty Fifteen Theme. (3:38 pm) [Ryan]: That makes sense. Why would the homepage work but not any others? (3:39pm) [Hisako P.] I do not know and this is why the ticket is being created to see if we can resolve it or if it is theme coding issue. (3:40pm) [Hisako P.] It is advised to backup Wordpress before doing a theme, plugin, or overall Wordpress update for your protection. (3:40 pm) [Ryan]: Okay.
Do you know how quickly those tickets usually get answered? (3:40 pm) [Hisako P.] How long have you been using this theme \"salient\"? (3:41 pm) [Ryan]: A couple years. (3:42pm) [Hisako P.] I have completed creating the ticket and your ticket number is: KJP-36903865 : Wordpress Theme Update Issue (3:42 pm)[Hisako P.] Our administrators will work on this to see why this is happening and reply once they have further information. (3:43 pm) [Ryan]: You are awesome. Thank you! (3:44 pm) [System] Chat closed by customer request.
Below is what my host sent me from their escalation department....
\"Unfortunately after looking deeper into this issue this does appear to be directly related to the theme, I\'m unsure if the agent had informed you but it appears your account is over the max inodes for our automatic backups so if they theme updated and is now broke you would need to contact the theme developer to try and see what the issue is.\"
Could you allow us to log in to your website backend dashboard so we can check on this for you more?. We are gonna need the username and password of admin user as well as the login url.
I tried repairing your database as well as everything i could think of. The pages that are set in Settings -> Reading are only viewable .
Did you install a redirection plugin or similar as that could have changed a few settings. Also could you ask your hosting provider to update the php version to 5.3 .

Thank you. Honestly, I wish I knew the answer. All I know is my guy just uninstalled and then reinstalled the theme. I guess the third time is the charm. lol
My host (HostGator) was kind of at a loss as well.
Looks like an old thread, but I just ran into the same error. Only some pages loaded while others did not. I'm running an online event so I cannot uninstall and reinstall at the moment. Was a real solution every discovered for this problem?

If you need access to the site let me know.
Do you have any thoughts on this? Please let me know as my marketing is down until this is fixed.
Thank you.

Can you look into this...
Also, reinstalled the theme and under \'\'Appearance\" I do not see \"Install Plugins\".
Hey Again,
Seems like a php parsing error. Please contact your hosting provider so that they can check this error.
Thanks

Hey Ryan and Tahir,
Ryan, I was just on your site (and very impressive, I\'ll say!) but you got your site back up!!!?
How?
What did you finally figure out?
Was it a PHP upgrade?
Hi Drew,
Thank you. Honestly, I wish I knew the answer. All I know is my guy just uninstalled and then reinstalled the theme. I guess the third time is the charm. lol

ahh. I love those \"mysterious fixes\" :-)
I installed the latest Salient *fortunately* on a testing site first… then ran into this same issue.
So did your guy keep installing the \"updated/latest\" theme? … or did he have to revert to the older one?
