I'm having trouble with the images on my website. All of a sudden, images are blowing up super large and won't update after i've resized them back. Also, some columns have dissapeared on the back end of the website but are still showing on the front end. These are typically the same columns containing the blown up images which make it even more difficult to try and correct the issue.

Try regenerating the Images with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/ .
