So I'm using the 4.8.1 Salient theme for my website, and I've encountered an issue on the front page. No matter what I try, I can't make the 4 widget areas from my Salient theme go away. I've tried going to Appearance -> Widgets and deleting any possible widgets there, but there are none and there is no option to turn it off. Do you guys know how to fix this? I want my front page to be uncluttered with widgets, but this four-widget placement seems to have forced me to use widgets.

You can remove the footer in Salient Theme Options Panel -> Footer Section .
