Internal Server Error

I've been having issues with the theme lately in regards to uploading
images to the gallery and just all around navigating. I've constantly
been getting the '500 Internal Server Error', so as a test, I installed
the theme on a separate instance on my server at a new location.

Now, even at the new location, I cannot even log into 'wp-admin'.
It gives me the error message instead of the log in screen.

    What's going on with it?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hey,

Please try increasing the php memory: https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP .

Also contact your hosting provider since its a server error.

    Best.

    Okay, I figured it out:

On a fresh install of WP, I\'ve uploaded the Salient theme (activated the Child Theme) and
it turns out that the Salient Visual Composer plugin disables everything.

I renamed that plugin via FTP, and deleted that plugin folder—why is my dashboard
prompting me to add this plugin? Should I just ignore this message? Will the theme\'s
dashboard and interface work without this plugin?

    Thanks!

    Hey ,

That plugin is needed to build the pages . You can however work with the shortcodes as well but they are limited.

    Best.

Since I\'ve disabled it, I\'m able to build the pages now without getting
the \'500 Internal Server Error\', is this plugin NOT compatible with the
    latest WP?

I\'ll also look into increasing the php memory, but this has never happened
before, and I was able to build pages with the Visual Composer without
    any error messages.

    Thank you for you assistance,
    Don

    Hey Again,

The new version of VC needs more memory . Please increase it : http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP .

You can still build the pages using the shortcodes but some of the newer functionality would be limited.

    Best.
