I would like to know how can i do an image hover, such as the ones in the pictures grid from the corporate demo (http://themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266). My images are not from a post or portfolio, just a picture with a link to another page, but with the same hover effect.

What if i want to show the picture (with the hover effect) without a link? Just to make it cool when the user go over it, but with no actions.

I had solved the problem writing .work-info {display: none;}, that removed the link and information over the picture, but still show the hover effect over it :)
