Wigitized Sidebar

I recently upgraded my theme, which included the change to Visual Composer being installed as a plug-in. After the upgrade, I lost my wigitized sidebars.

If I go to Appearance>Widgets, my sidebars have no widgets added. They all disappeared.

If I add the widgets back in, they still don't appear on my pages, unless I use Visual Composer to remove and re-install the "Widgetized Sidebar" element on a page. Then and only then do the widgets appear.

Is there a fix for this problem, so I don't have to delete and re-install the VC Widgetized Sidbar element on every single page?

    Hey ,

We have VC 4.9 update coming out tomorrow that will likely fix this . Please update when its out and let us know.

I just updated my theme today and all of my widgets have disappeared in both the footer section and on the right side area. Was there a solution to this problem?

    Thanks.

    Hey ,

They should be in the inactive Widgets area. Simply drag them back . Cheers

Did you try updating the Visual Composer plug-in after updating your theme? Tahir suggested that as a possible solution. It didn\'t work for me, but I had already gone down the road of sticking my widgets back into the sidebar under appearance>widgets, and then opening the \"widgetized sidebar\" element in Visual Composer on every single one of my pages, which would \"reset\" the widget and make it appear again. A sucky way to do it, indeed, but nothing else was working for me.

Kind of a bummer to think your site is finished and solid, then perform an upgrade and have something break with the solution being to edit something on every single page!

That didn\'t work for me. I still had to open the \"widgetized sidebar\" element in VC on each page. Upon re-saving that element and then updating the page, the sidebar would finally show up.
