I found that design options in visual composer (for instance the text element ) in the portfolio item does not work.

In a page or post no problem I can add padding , margin , border and more of the design options all works OK.

I use the latest version of the theme and visual composer.

I have set all the user rights correct.

I am very disappointed , how do I create in a simple way space between elements or get background colors or background images.
I know there is a more cumbersome way by specifying an extra class and add css.
I am interested what the thoughts are behind the design decision.
The interesting part is that in the vc shortcodes all the settings are present but are not executed.
