We are trying get a drop down menu of portfolio categories and sub-categories from this url. The portfolio Parents are DURATION | LOCATION | SECTORS and the sub-categories are in lower case next to their parents.
The setting page in Theme Nector in our WP backend is showing that the Display Filters Horizontally check box is ticked to ON but we don't get the drop down boxes. Instead we get (as you can see from the URL) all the categories and sub-categories extended out.
We have tried to manipulate this with stylesheets but with no success.
What we'd really like is for the Display Filters Horizontally Check Box to do what it says.
But it that is busted, what steps do you suggest we take? Anything that we should be checking is ok? What sort of manual style sheet changes can we do?

The only possible solution is to use this custom css.
Add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel (Make Sure there are no red cross in the Box) :
