When I try to edit a portfolio item, Visual Composer does not load the content that I saved the first time I created the portfolio item. So after I have added the portfolio items, I cannot come back and edit them.
Your solution did NOT fix my problem. What did fix my problem is I went into the database and copied the portfolio template code for each item and resaved it to the page using the plain text input box instead of the visual input. My issue though is that I don't want to have to do this everytime Visual Composer doesn't like something I've done. Are there text editors that I should not be copying and pasting content from? It seems like that is what might have happened because after some of the portfolio items were saved, they were displaying characters. My guess is that the person maintaining the site, was copying and pasting from some Word processing program and the weird characters / formatting caused visual composer to not display the content. Just a guess but I need to have this figured out.
Yes thats likely the case. The best way to use the Visual Composer is to use it only in Visual mode and any code or text that you need to add , Add it in a VC Text Block Page Element so that you dont have to switch btw the Classic and Visual mode .
