    Hello -

Wordpress recently updated to 4.5, and now Visual Composer and many things on the Salient theme aren't working. Is there a way to fix this? When will an update be ready? Just wanted to know, I have a client that we used this theme for, and now their website is missing things, and we need to get it up and running again. Thanks in advance!

    Hey ,

We just released Salient 7.0.8 with the WP 4.5 Fix, If you've already installed Salient VC 4.9.2 you'll need to delete it and update to 4.11.2 to get some of the fixes, See changelog : http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html .

Update the theme by following this guide: https://themenectar.ticksy.com/article/3218/ . Also see Visual Composer update instructions in here: https://themenectar.ticksy.com/article/5182/
    Best.

Here's what I did that helped me because updating the plugin alone wasn't enough.

First make sure you have the Salient Child Theme installed and then activate it. Yes, even if you've been working all this time with whatever version of Salient on it's own.... it won't change anything. Then make sure you have the "Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades " plugin installed. Then upload just the salient.zip folder from your updated salient theme download.  BE sure to hit YES this is an upgrade to an existing plug in.

After it is finished installing DO NOT hit activate. Just let it sit. You've already got the child's theme active.  Your visual composer should be updated and so should your theme and you should see your stuff again!  Hope this helps. No one ever mentions in the FAQ how damn important that Child's theme is with all of the updates. We had been losing so much work because we were only working with the Salient theme itself not with the childs theme activate and the salient theme installed.

    Namaste!
