The problem came to be in a somewhat odd manner. We have multiple administrators, and initially I was the only one that could not see the visual composer, while another administrator could still see and use it on his pc. Ever since I tried to log in with his account on my pc, he is no longer able to use visual composer either; neither on his pc or mine. We have already tried deactivating every single plugin to find out a possible culprit, but to no avail.
We were wondering if merely updating will be enough to fix this problem, and, whether we will lose part of our design/data if we do so (we do have some custom CSS for example, will that still be available if we update our salient/visual composer?)
I hope I have explained the problem properly. Neither of us is experienced with this sort of software/programming at all prior to us making this website, so my apologies if the explanation of the problem may be considered somewhat "vague".
We just released Salient 7.0.8 with the WP 4.5 Fix, If you've already installed Salient VC 4.9.2 you'll need to delete it and update to 4.11.2 to get some of the fixes, See changelog : http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html .
