I've followed the method you describe here along with the compiled tutorials on the same page to translate the Salient theme without any success. I've tried with Polylang, Loco Translate, Codestyling Localization and even with WPML and after several days of trial and error I clearly don't know what I'm missing or what I am not doing right but Salient doesn't respond to the .po/.mo files, both translated offline and on the dashboard.
Thought it was a simple front-end string manual translation and file upload to the corresponding folders and a little wp-config.php tweak, but this has proven to be incredibly frustrating.
I will immensely appreciate if you could assist me in any way to sort this out; surely I'm not alone in facing this problem. Cheers and hoping to hear from you soon.
