I'm not familiar with code.

I have a child theme of Salient.

I want some lines of code in order to have the widht of my site to be maximum of 1000 px.

So all my pages will be 1000 px width.

And where do I put the code: in my administration WordPress > Apparance > Editor    ... or ... in the style.css file ?
