There is an automatic filter appearing on the feature images when set  up to appear in the portfolio. How do I remove that filter for the images to keep their same bright colors?

Side note: I don't mind the filter that appears when you hover over the image, the issue is that the images have a filter when they are static and not being hovered over.

    Hey Christine,

There is no such code that applies a filter when you havent hovered over it ? .

Are you seeing something else in your browser ?.

    Thanks

Sorry, the filter is appearing when the image is in the Image Gallery. When I click it to open, it looks correct, but how do i prevent it from darkening my image in the thumbnail?

    Hey Again,

Since the Images you are uploading to WP are really big there is a loss when WP creates the Thumbnail for it.

The Image you upload should not be bigger than 1920 by 1080px . Also try adding full in the Image Gallery Size Field and the Gallery would not show the Thumbnail version rather the full 5000px images.

You can also try Image Optimization plugins like this : https://wordpress.org/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/

    Best.
