    I would like two footer widget columns taking up 2 x 25% of the width, leaving the other 50% blank.

    I would think there are two ways to do this:

    1) set a 2 column format - but this sends column 2 to 50% into the width

    2) set a 4 column format and just use the first 2 - but this leaves me with two additional widgets which say...

    "WIDGET AREA 3

    Click here to assign a widget to this area."

    Is there a setting I am missing or will I need to edit the CSS?

    Hi there,

    I hope you are having an awesome day and thanks for contacting us regarding your query.

    You may need to use some Custom CSS to change the widths of the widgets. 

    If you provide me with a link to your site I'll be able to generate some Custom CSS that works for that.
