We're using the Salient theme with Woocommerce. On the product pages, the top of the page is hidden by the menu, whether it's fixed or not. We'd therefore like the product pages to start further down, but have been unable to work out how to make this happen. See related URL.
It becomes apparent when you click to any of the tabs, or the faq's within the tabs. The page scrolls up, which is the default behaviour, but it ends up too high up - its reference seems to be the very top of screen, hence the tabs etc get hidden by the menu.
You seem to be using a really old version of the Theme that is likely causing the Issue.
Salient 7.5.02 is now available for Download on the Themeforest Download Page , Visual Composer has also been Updated to Version 4.12.
If you're upgrading from Salient VC 4.9.2 or earlier, you'll need to delete the plugin from your plugins section in the WordPress admin panel before installing the current version (4.12) in Appearance > Install Plugins - This is necessary due to a bug in the Salient VC 4.9.2 which prevents regular updating.
You seem to be using Third Party Ultimate FAQ Plugin therefore please consult with the Plugin Developer as its conflicting with the Theme code.
Also if you have Page Transitions Turned On Please Switch the Animated Transition Method to "Standard" in Salient Theme Options -> Page Transition Section.
Also be sure to check this Disable Fade Out On Click option : http://prntscr.com/8f3bj7

Research led us to this question/answer for a different theme, but we could't adapt it to suit. https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/woocommerce-related-pages-header-details-are-too-high/
Hey John,
Once its loaded completely it does get hidden by the menu or did you add css ?.

Hey Tahir,
There's no css added in this regard.

Ok, I updated the theme, and that's all working fine. I still see the problem occurring, although some of the behaviour is slightly different.
During pageload you see the woocommerce page start out too high up, and then correct itself.
If you click into the FAQ tab and open an FAQ, it still scrolls the page up such that the menu bar hides important things.
Any ideas from this point? Thanks!
